Bio

Misty Lee was born April 22, 1976, in Mount Clemens, Michigan.

Before becoming a magician Lee trained in dentistry.

Her first venture into magic came when a former high school friend called her and asked if she would like to earn some money as an assistant in his magic act.

Her role as an assistant quickly spawned her passion for magic.

That's when she decided to take on the role of magician and venture professionally into the world of magic.

Lee was later mentored by some of the leading names in professional magic, including Detroit-based magician and illusionist Jonathan Pendragon.

She credits fellow female magician Mystina with helping her develop her abilities. Lee has trained at Hollywood's Magic Castle and is an active member of the Academy of Magical Arts.

Lee also studied and honed her improv comedy skills at the Second City venue in Los Angeles.

In 2001, Misty took her amassed knowledge and training in the art of magic, and began performing professionally. She was 25.

Her onstage performances blend theatre, song, and sleight of hand, but she is best known for her work in grand illusion.

In January 2008, she stated in an interview that she had recently acquired the rights to produce a live show called "Night of the Living Bread: The Musical" in California.

Lee is married to animation producer and comic book author Paul Dini. Many people, including Dini, have remarked that Lee bears a strong resemblance to the comic book heroine Zatanna, who is also a magician.

She is fluent in American Sign Language and has worked as a theatrical sign interpreter for Michigan State University. She and her husband currently live in Los Angeles.
