Tina possesses the supreme ability of pantomime and magic.
Her signature performance is a silent comedy with a touch of magic to produce a most enchanting act in which a very sad and frumpy cleaning lady is magically transformed and finds happiness.
The origin for Tina’s world famous “Maid in Heaven” act, also known as “Mopman,” was planted in the early 1980s and drew inspiration from Carol Burnett and Charlie Chaplin.
Tina Lenert was born on June 6, 1948 in Caracas, Venezuela.
She was rather shy as a child and though she enjoyed expressing herself, she preferred to do so without words.
At age 12, Tina and her family moved to Malibu, California where she learned how to play electrical guitar as part of a female rock band. Performing at a high school talent show, though it terrified her, realised a desire for stage performance.
She began her career as a classical guitarist, and upon completing her college studies as a performance major, abandoned the instrument and achieved success as a mime and then as an award-winning magician.
The arts of Mime and Magic are universally appealing to everyone, crossing all barriers of language and age; Tina has done this with great success.
She has combined silent comedy with a touch of magic to produce a most unusual and enchanting act in which a very sad and frumy cleaning lady is magically transformed and finds happiness.
Her pantomime skills were honed as a founding member of the L.A. Mime Company, a talented group who performed at colleges and appeared on several television series.
Her magic skills were developed by being a regular performer and life member of Hollywood’s Magic Castle, where she was voted Stage Magician of the Year by the Academy of Magical Arts & Sciences.
For the past several years, Tina has toured Europe several times, appearing in major theatres including Berlin's Wintergarten, the London Palladium and a performance for the Royal Family in Monte Carlo.
Tina has been featured on television in many European, South American and Asian countries. In the United States she has appeared at Harrah's Reno, Atlantic City and Las Vegas as well as Caesars Palace.
On television she has been featured on the Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, and CBS and NBC Specials.
In 1977, Tina met and later married magician Mike Caveny. Today they live in California and enjoy spending their leisure time in their getaway treehouse.
Tina returned to music via the harp and has performed internationally at a wide range of venues including concerts, cruise ships, corporate events, on MTV, NBC and European television specials.
Tina is a regular performer with both the harp and magic at Hollywood's Magic Castle, and the Hermosa Beach Comedy and Magic Club.
