Interesting Fact

Since he started headlining in Las Vegas in 2005, McCambridge has performed over 925 shows in Sin City making him the longest running and most successful Mentalist show in Las Vegas history!

Gerry McCambridge was born on Halloween in Long Island, New York. He was adopted by a loving family after spending some time as an infant in an orphanage.

At the age of 8, he received a magic kit for Christmas. From that moment on he was hooked.

He found himself immersed in the art of magic and practiced every day. In 1974, for his 12th birthday, Gerry’s brother gave him a ticket to see “The Magic Show” with magician Doug Henning.

He met with Doug Henning after the show and Doug offered support and guidance with McCambridge's magic career. He wanted to be just like his mentor Doug Henning and dreamed that some day he too would be on stage performing nightly.

A few months later, he performed his very first live paid gig and received a standing ovation from the audience.

He continued to delve deep into live performing and studied every aspect of magic he could get his hands on, as well as taking speech, drama and television production classes.

At the age of 15, he accidentally stumbled onto the art of mentalism. He quickly realized there was a systematic way to convince people he knew what they were thinking.

He changed his studies from the art of visual illusion to the art of mentalism and studied everything he could about the art. He even drew upon the skills of his father who was an NYC detective and an expert at interrogation.

McCambridge continued to perform his magic shows after graduating high school, but would occasionally add a mentalism routine.

As his mentalist skills increased, he slowly phased in more mentalism routines and phased out his visual illusions. He fine-tuned and polished his new mentalisim based show and was now ready to read minds.

On May 12, 2004 Gerry had his first prime-time network TV special titled "The Mentalist." Over 6.2 million viewers tuned in to watch the one hour special.

The show aired internationally and confounded the minds of viewers in many countries, including United States, South Africa, Korea, The Middle East and New Zealand, to name a few. McCambridge has since appeared on "Late Night with David Letterman," "The Today Show," "The Vegas Show" and was also a regular performer on the 2007 television series, "Phenomenon."

The Psychic Entertainers Association awarded him for "Outstanding Contributions to the Art of Mentalism," and "Mentalist of the Year."

In 2008, he was presented with a Merlin Award for "Mentalist of the Year."

Gerry McCambridge is currently performing in his hit Vegas show "The Mentalist" at the V Theater in Planet Hollywood.
